Sorry, Web Log, it's been a while...
When I was in 7th grade, we were all assigned a book to read and then summarize in 2 paragraphs or less. I don't remember exactly what the point of the assignment was, something about communicating complex thoughts briefly, or learning to create Cliff Notes... The book I got to read was Roots. You know, the one that the 12 hour miniseries is based on. Two paragraphs or less?
I was assigned that book because in the words of my teacher, "Emily, you are a woman of few words." Um... thanks? Those words have been haunting me as I look over the half dozen or posts I've started in the last two weeks. I keep thinking, "That could be a good/interesting/informative post... I just need to add some, uh, words to it..." I guess I could try microblogging, but that seems to take a certain amount of consistency that I can't commit to... So instead, here's a regular blog post filled with microblog sized bits from the last two weeks.
1. Good bye, 1991. I've finally upgraded my CX bike with 10 speed SRAM! I dig it. The Double Tap business is very easy to use, and to get used to. I'm a sucker for efficiency, so I think it's the one lever for shifting up and down that gets me....
2. I'm not big on holidays. I have nothing against them, I just don't get excited. I do get excited for the beginning of mountain bike season, so trail opening day seems like a holiday worth celebrating. And it's coming SOON (this Thursday)...
3. Now is the perfect time to get your bike in and tuned for the season. Things are definitely picking up here in the tune-up department, but we're staying on top of it. Most bikes are back to their owners within 48 hours. Got a specific day you can part with your bike? Give a call and we can set up an appointment for you...
4. The NEMBA/Hub Women's MTB Maintenance Clinics were an epic WIN. Keep an eye out for other clinics in the near future...
5. Women of Dirt movie/fundraiser/raffle. Regent Theater, Arlington, Apr 21, 7pm...
Those are all of the unrelated chunks of bike-y goodness I have for now. Maybe next time I'll post in haiku form.
